Everyday Tips for Helping Your Back – Part 2
As we said in our last blog, your back plays an integral role to pretty much everything you do in life. The good news is, it’s made of many different parts all working together, and when you take steps to treat them kindly, they will last you a lifetime. In our last blog, we discussed two ways that you can be kind to your hardworking spine, including investing in good shoes and a good mattress. Today, we have two more ways you can be a friend to your back and keep it going strong.
3. Try massage
There are three types of people in the world: people who like massage, people who can’t stand it, and people who have never tried it. If massage just makes you tense and uncomfortable, go ahead and invest in a massage chair. Otherwise, if you’ve never tried in-person massage, it’s very worth an attempt. Not only does massage help with stress and pain relief by increasing endorphins, it increases blood flow to trouble spots to help them heal faster.
4. Exercise your core
When we say core, we’re talking about the muscles in your lower back and abdomen. They are your spine’s closest allies, because they help keep the strain off your lower back. Everyday activities don’t really use them, so you have to take the time to do exercises that strengthen them every day. You will be amazed at the difference it makes!
